1. Who we are

Perpetual Blue is a crewed yacht charter sailing from West End, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. If you have a question about this policy or about information we hold, write to charters@perpetualbluebvi.com.

2. What we collect

Only what you send us, and what your browser shows any website. We do not buy information about you and we do not track you around the internet.

When you send the enquiry form, or email us:

• Your name and email address, so we can reply.
• The dates you have in mind and how many of you there are, if you tell us.
• Anything you write in the message box.

Our hosting provider records ordinary server information for every visitor, including an IP address, the pages requested and the browser used. This is kept briefly and used to keep the site running and secure.

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this site: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are and what device they use, how they found us, and whether they sent an enquiry or tapped our email address. Google gives us this as totals and trends. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how the site is used: where people click, how far they scroll, and anonymised replays of visits, so we can find what is confusing or hard to use. Clarity hides anything you type into our forms, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

3. Cookies and what we store on your device

Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by a code) so it can tell a returning visitor from a new one. They last up to two years. Microsoft Clarity sets cookies for the same reason (named _clck and _clsk), lasting up to a year, and Microsoft may also set its own identifier cookie (MUID) on its clarity.ms and bing.com domains, lasting about thirteen months. We set no advertising cookies and we do not allow Google or Microsoft to use this information for advertising.

You can stop both from measuring your visits by blocking cookies in your browser settings. For Google Analytics there is also Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The site also stores two small pieces of information in your browser, both of which are cleared when you close the tab and neither of which ever reaches us:

• A note that you have seen the opening animation, so you are not shown it again on every page.
• Where you had scrolled to on a page, so that pressing back returns you to it rather than to the top.

4. What we use it for

Answering your enquiry and arranging your charter, and nothing else. We do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to, and we will never sell your information to anybody.

5. Who else sees it

Only the companies that run parts of this site for us, and only what they need:

• Our website host, which serves this site.
• Our content system, which stores the photographs and words on this site.
• Google and Microsoft, which provide the analytics described above.
• Our email provider, which delivers your enquiry to us and our confirmation to you.

We may also share information where the law requires it.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept only as long as we need them to answer you and arrange your charter, plus whatever our tax and legal obligations require for charters that go ahead. Then they are deleted.

7. Your rights

You can ask what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it. Write to charters@perpetualbluebvi.com and we will answer promptly. You will not be treated differently for asking.

8. Children

This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen.

9. Changes

If this policy changes we will update it here and change the date at the top.
